Outcome of the interactive poster presented at IA Conference 2025 Poster Night.

We conducted this exercise to get a broad, horizontal perspective from the Information Architecture community on how attendees viewed the information maturity of their organizations. Please see our written analysis below, and if you participated, thank you for voting!

Here are the results:

What we observed in the above poster exercise is similar to what we’ve observed in the field. We find that most people within the organizations Factor works with cluster their evaluations around the 3. Emerging stage. We also observe a slant toward the left side of the scale, with more dots in 1 than 5, and 2 than 4.

What this tells us is that even in this era of large language models, most organizations still don’t have the information foundations they need to take advantage of these emerging technologies.
